The School of Materials Science and Engineering has 1 national level platform-National and local joint Engineering Laboratory of transportation and civil engineering materials, 3 provincial &ministerial level platforms, e.g., Chongqing Key Laboratory of Mountainous Road Structure and Materials and Engineering Research Center of Mountain Highway Construction and Maintenance, Ministry of Education, with the area over 5500 m2, equipment value up to 40,000,000 yuan.
The national level platform-National and local joint Engineering Laboratory of transportation and civil engineering materials was approved by National Development and Reform Commission and set up in November of 2011.The laboratory relies on Chongqing Jiaotong University, Beijing Zhongjiaolutong Techonology Development Co., Ltd and Chongqing Paving Technology Engineering Co., Ltd. and carries out road materials development, pilot production, engineering verification, and popularization & application with respect to the 4 research directions, e.g., development and application of high performance durable pavement materials, recycling technology of waste materials, environmental protection and energy saving pavement functional materials, new materials for subgrade disaster resistance and reinforcement. with the aim of contributing to the development of industrialization of transportation science and technology achievements.
